A captivating intro explaining just what happened Before That Night

Note: Although I own One Night That Changes Everything it is currently in my "to be read" pile so I read this prequel with no previous knowledge about the story.

Before That Night can be read prior to reading One Night That Changes Everything. It might even be better to read it beforehand as it really gives you a clear picture of who the characters are and the events that lead up to Eliza and Cooper's breakup - the basis for the book. Eliza is the nice girl and Cooper, a popular senior, is most definitely a player - a combination that is almost always destined to fail.

This is a much longer novella than some of the prequels currently available, allowing you to get so caught up in the story that it's a bit surprising when you reach the end. If you haven't read the full-length novel, reading this prequel novella will make you want to go out and immediately pick up a copy of the book so you can find out what happens next. It was the perfect motivator to get me to start reading the book.

The book describes contributions in the area of mobility for UGVs including: tools for assembling complex autonomous mobility systems; on-road and off-road navigation; sensing techniques; and route planning algorithms. In addition to basic mobility technology, the book covers a number of integrated systems demonstrated in the field in realistic scenarios. The approaches presented in this book can be applied to a wide range of mobile robotics applications, from automated passenger cars to planetary exploration, and construction and agricultural machines.
Intelligent Unmanned Ground Vehicles shows the progress that was achieved during this program, from brittle specially-built robots operating under highly constrained conditions, to groups of modified commercial vehicles operating in tough environments. One measure of progress is how much of this technology is being used in other applications. For example, much of the work in road-following, architectures and obstacle detection has been the basis for the Automated Highway Systems (AHS) prototypes currently under development. AHS will lead to commercial prototypes within a few years. The cross-country technology is also being used in the development of planetary rovers with a projected launch date within a few years. The architectural tools built under this program have been used in numerous applications, from an automated harvester to an autonomous excavator.
The results reported in this work provide tools for further research development leading to practical, reliable and economical mobile robots.

She escaped after the Nazis came to power; remained stateless until 1951, when she became a U.S. citizen; was the first woman appointed to a full professorship at Princeton; and became a prominent "public intellectual" whose positions were often controversial. Her major works include The Origins of Totalitarianism, Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil, The Human Condition, and The Life of the Mind (unfinished at her death). Now, twenty years later, this collection of fifteen essays brings her work into dialogue with those philosophical views that are at center stage today -- in critical theory, communitarianism, virtue theory, and feminism. The essays are divided into four sections: Political Action and Judgment; Ethics and the Nature of Evil; Self and World; and Gender and Jewishness. An extensive bibliography of work on Arendt in English is included as an appendix.

Taking the complication out of golf

After years of lessons and hundreds of dollars spent on equipment seen on the cover, I saw this book and thought, What's the worst that could happen?"

I immediately connected with the theme of letting go and not worrying about what happens on the golf course. Yeah I'll make mistakes, but it's my attitude after the fact that helps me continue working hard. The challenge Mike faced was keeping the process simple enough while also developing a game that was unique to me. The insights helped me defined MY game, not Tiger's, not Mike's, but mine. And that is the great thing about this book.

If you're struggling to stay ahead of the gadgets and other tools golf has now-a-days and want a personalized experience that's simple to pick up and see the results, read and buy this book.

There's stuff in here to like and find useful

3 stars and I'm being charitable. I bought this book on the basis of introductory narrative, the citing of Jack Nicklaus' recommendation and Amazon reviews. There's stuff in here to like and find useful, but in the end (a rather expensive end) this book is not for me. A major premise of the book is to keep things simple. Yet I found the format and the progression of the instruction both over detailed, yet muddied and insufficient. Certainly, a major reason this book is so pricy is that it is entirely in color, AND at 12" x 12", on heavy stock.... It is more of a coffee table book, than the typical golf instruction book you could sneak into your briefcase or take along to the range. Buyer Beware. (I note this review references my purchase of the Kindle edition of this book. I bought the Kindle edition only after purchasing the hardcover edition... finding the hardcover edition very "pretty", but utterly unusable in it's size and weight to be a practical golf instruction manual).

one of the best books I've read on golf.
the industry is ripe with misconceptions and Mike keeps it simple and easy to understand, and therefore implement.
I also watch some of his utube videos and found them very helpful.
He says "golf is a game of control, not power". that really hit home for me
