Finally the Kindle edition arrives.

This story, like all Philip K. Dick stories adapted to film, is quite a different pace than what we see in the theater. His stories have more thought and less action than their cinematic counterparts, but are nonetheless very entertaining. I have been looking for quite some time for a kindle edition of the story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" (a.k.a. Total Recall) that was not included in the $15 download collection, of which I already have a hard copy. This story is under 20 pages long in a book, so do not be disapointed after purchasing that it is not a lengthy tale.

SHORT story, not four hundred sixteen pages.

This is a well written short story. But I was extremely disappointed to discover that it is a short story _after_ I purchased it. It is listed as four hundred sixteen pages long. I was encouraged to write a different review or leave seller feedback by amazon. I get it, its a problem with Amazon, and not the book. But guess what, there is no such thing as seller feedback on digital content. Nor can I reply to the do-not-reply email address. How hard is it to change. The story is about five pages long.

Good story bad title

This was a good short story. Not Dick's best but it's hard to beat The Variable Man. My primary complaint is the renaming of the book after a lame movie (referring to the 80s version .) Ok so I'm not such a Sci Fi purist that I minded the movie getting its own name but it is aggregious the book was renamed. Change it back!

Great Read

I came to this book without knowing much about Vita Sackville West (just that I loved her book "all passion spent", and that she was, at one point, Virginia's lover), to my surprise and enjoyment I found out after reading it how deep their relationship was. How open, interesting, generous, complicated, funny, sweet, tender and amusing their relationship really was. It is a great read and if you are lucky to read the letters of Virginia Woolf (another great book, the letters of VW between 1925-1930), you get the whole view of what was going on between them. To anyone who loves Virgina Woolf this is a great book to read and to all the ones who have been intrigued by who Vita Sackville West was, this book is a great start, a really interesting one.

Readers have to understand the context...

Donald Alexander Mackenzie (1873 - March 2, 1936) was a Scottish journalist and prolific writer on religion, mythology and anthropology in the early 20th century. His works included Indian Myth and Legend, Celtic Folklore and Myths of China and Japan.

Archeology and History, just like any other subjects, evolve in time as the result of new findings/developments. Readers must remember that this book was written almost 100 years ago, since then our understanding of pre-Columbian civilizations have evolved a lot.

Just another white man trying to prove Europeans and other non-Indians brought civilization to Ixachilan. It is easy to see why he would be jealous...Indigenous Americans had the most advanced civilizations in the world as of 1519.

The largest city in the world was Mexico-Tenochtitlan. The Mexica had the largest library in the world with information on more subjects than any other civilization. (Soustelle) They were also more advanced in medicine than Europeans. (Soustelle) The Aztec/Mayan calendars are still the most accurate calendars in the world. (Mann) Ancient Mexicans genetically engineered maize in man's first and greatest feat of genetic engineering. (Mann) Mayans invented the concept of 0 before any other civilization on Earth...Europeans did not understand it until recently. (Mann) They were also the greatest mathematicians the world has ever seen. The Olmecs knew that the Earth was round thousands of years before it was accepted in Europe. The Aztec pyramids are the largest in the world. Caral, in South America, will probably be proven to be the oldest of Earth's civilizations. The pyramids at Caral are older than any in Egypt. So now I ask the author of this book how Europeans could have brought us civilization before they had it themselves?
